The Royal Bopsters is a vocal jazz quartet made up of New York's most seasoned professional jazz singers. Amy London, Darmon Meader, Dylan Pramuk and Holli Ross arrange and write lyrics for classic bebop solos and compositions. Together with the guest appearances of jazz masters, Jon Hendricks, Annie Ross, Sheila Jordon, Bob Dorough and the late Mark Murphy, their recent release on Motema Records has garnered rave reviews and made four top jazz CD lists of 2015 including Downbeat and Jazz Times.
Dear friends of The Royal Bopsters,
It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved alto, Holli Wasser Ross. Holli struggled with ovarian cancer for more than 3 years, and, with nearly superhuman power, she fought the most valiant, courageous, and optimistic battle. Holli's strength, artistry, and pizazz will stay with us forever, and we are glad that her musical legacy is so well represented on the recordings and videos of The Royal Bopsters. Please stay tuned for news of our upcoming release, Party of Four, a title penned by Holli, drop date November 13th 2020.
Darling Holli, you will be in our hearts forever.
With love,
Amy London, Pete McGuinness, and Dylan Pramuk
Forthcoming CD, “Party Of Four” to be released by Motèma Music Fall 2020

Critical Acclaim for the Royal Bopsters:
Newport Jazz Festival, 2019. “New York’s Royal Bopsters bring a new and refreshing approach to the art of vocal jazz” - JazzTimes, August 4, 2019
"Every era needs a group of slap-happy enthusiasts to extoll the virtues of oop bop sh'bam.......these expert practitioners of vocalese"-The New Yorker Magazine
"This is my favorite group of singers of all time. Soulful voices and great music. I've heard loads of wonderful singers but the Bopsters are a group of fantastic singers doing great lyrics and great tunes. Buy their CD and hear it for yourself.".... - Sheila Jordan
“Extraordinary…The Royal Bopsters Project vividly makes the case for a revival of the art of vocalese. (4.5 stars/Best Albums of 2015) ”– Allen Morrison, Downbeat
"The presence of these monarchs of vocal jazz in no way intimidates the Bopsters, who swing and scat with energy, accuracy and melodic inventiveness."- Peter Jones, London Jazz News
“If this disc featured just the quartet, it would be sensational. “A magnum opus of jazz and song, gathering and celebrating bop and vocalese with the best (and last) of the definitive jazz singers … “ – Michael Bourne, Singers Unlimited, WBGO
